“I was really worried about having to enrol my son in school for the first time during such a difficult period,” says Natalia, who recalls quickly realising that it wouldn’t be an option when the teacher immediately seemed to brand her a “liberal” and an ideological enemy during her attempt to sign her 6-year-old up for primary school in 2022.
